TOPEKA, KS – August 20, 2025 – The NOTO Arts & Entertainment District has a new splash of color thanks to A & E Floral, Topeka’s newest floral shop, which celebrated its opening month with the unveiling of a limited-time storefront window mural designed by local artist Phoebe Trites of Phoebe Trites Art.

The hand-painted mural frames the glass storefront windows of A & E Floral with an array of bright, whimsical flowers, inviting visitors to experience both art and nature in a single stop. The artwork will remain on display for only 60 days after which the storefront may be redesigned as part of the shop’s evolving look.

“We wanted to open our doors in a way that truly reflected the spirit of NOTO—creative, colorful, and community-focused,” said Abigail Quintero, owner of A & E Floral. “Phoebe’s work brings life to our windows and helps us share the beauty of flowers both inside and out.”

Phoebe Trites, a Topeka-based artist known for her landscape and nature-inspired art works, designed the mural specifically to celebrate the opening of A & E Floral. “Creating the art mural on the glass surface transformed an ordinary storefront into a beautiful canvas that truly draws the eye to the store,” Trites said. “This mural is meant to echo the energy of the district and the joy of fresh flowers.”

A & E Floral offers fresh floral arrangements, botanical-inspired creations, and other gifts. The addition of Trites’ mural marks another step in blending the arts with local business, a hallmark of the district.

Residents and visitors are encouraged to stop by A & E Floral at 822 North Kansas Avenue in Topeka Kansas before October 16th to view the mural.
