About Phoebe Trites

Stay Inspired, Live Life

Phoebe’s art focuses on themes that have motivated and inspired her in life which are fantasy, landscapes, and nature.  For her, art serves as a healing outlet and a celebration of color, curiosity, and life itself. Many of her paintings will feature elements from landscapes, flowers, wildlife, and even rainbows. A rainbow isn’t just colors in the sky — it’s nature’s palette. Every shade tells a story, and she loves finding those stories in landscapes, flowers, and wildlife.

She was born with Spina Bifida Myelomeningocele (a medical condition on the rare disease registry) and hydrocephalus, which are believed to have contributed to her dyslexia, dysgraphia, and severe dyscalculia.  These medical conditions and learning disabilities have presented her with unique life perspectives.  After completing her home school education program early in 2025 at only 17, she started planning her next education steps and was recently accepted to Washburn University in Topeka, KS.

You may also find Phoebe wearing cat ear headbands on occasion. The cat ears remind her to stay curious — like an artist who is always exploring new techniques. And since she is allergic to real cats, this is her safe version of bringing that cat curiosity with her.

Phoebe is a studio artist and volunteer at the NOTO Arts Center in Topeka, KS where some of her latest artwork is on display.  Her work may also be seen at Amused Gallery & Gifts in Topeka, KS.
