Artist Statement:

I have been asked a few times what I was thinking about when I completed this particular painting.  This is a painting that symbolizes the processing of anxiety within me during the first few months of 2025.  My Mother had just spent over a year in and out of hospitals following a terrible car accident that left her partially disabled.  At the same time, I was pushing to finish high school before moving to a new home in a new city while still pushing myself in my free time to expand my art skills.  Plus having to process the move to another city being necessary for my own ongoing medical care with upcoming surgeries.  This painting reminds me of the need to be grounded in calmness rather than climbing high to the stormy sky of uncertainty.  The Stages has four distinct sections with my own artistic vision ranging from grounded calmness to high anxiety.  Painting for me is both healing and calming.
