Artist Statement:
I have been asked a few times what I was thinking about when I completed this particular painting. Â This is a painting that symbolizes the processing of anxiety within me during the first few months of 2025. Â My Mother had just spent over a year in and out of hospitals following a terrible car accident that left her partially disabled. Â At the same time, I was pushing to finish high school before moving to a new home in a new city while still pushing myself in my free time to expand my art skills. Â Plus having to process the move to another city being necessary for my own ongoing medical care with upcoming surgeries. Â This painting reminds me of the need to be grounded in calmness rather than climbing high to the stormy sky of uncertainty. Â The Stages has four distinct sections with my own artistic vision ranging from grounded calmness to high anxiety. Â Painting for me is both healing and calming.
